GROSSE POINTE WOODS RESIDENTS ONLY

Hazardous waste events will no longer accept latex paint. Latex paint is not hazardous waste. Latex paint must be discarded with regular trash after it it dried out or solidified.

The City's hazardous waste drop off days are the third Saturday of April and October each year from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.  The drop off site is the DPW yard at 1200 Parkway Drive (corner of Marter). View the Hazardous Waste Guidelines for proper disposal.

GFL Environment Services/Public Works WILL NOT COLLECT CURBSIDE any hazardous substances, including oil-based paints, thinners, weed killers, fertilizers, pesticides, gasoline, etc. These substances should be used completely and empty containers disposed of in the trash. Any such substances not used must be held for proper disposal on scheduled hazardous waste drop-off days.

Used motor oil, anti-freeze, large or small batteries may be taken to the Public Works yard at Marter and Parkway between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Neither GFL Environmental nor the City will pick-up construction materials, concrete, or car parts. Contractors and owners or tenants are responsible for the disposal of construction materials outside of the city. Public Works can often supply names of disposal places.

Wayne County's Department of Public Services provides four Household Hazardous Waste Collections per year for County residents.  Please visit the County's website at www.waynecounty.com for information on dates and locations or contact:
