Aquatic Facility

The Lake Front Park Aquatic Facility is located at 23000 Jefferson Rd., St. Clair Shores, MI 48080. The Aquatic Facility is open from Memorial Weekend until Labor Day. Portions of the Aquatic Facility are subject to closure dependent on staffing.

The following is a list of features the Aquatic Facility have to offer:

  • Olympic size swimming pool
  • Separate lap swimming section with seven lanes
  • One wading pool
  • One baby pool with a mushroom fountain
  • Diving boards – one three-meter board, two one-meter boards
  • Waterslide with two flumes
  • Seven large “funbrellas” to shade patrons from the sun
  • Numerous benches, lawn chairs, and deck chairs
  • Ramp for individuals with special needs

As the swim season approaches, updated information can be obtained by subscribing to the weekly e-blast “Grosse Pointe Woods Happenings.” Sign up online or call (313) 343-2408 to leave your name, address, and e-mail address.

All patrons and guests at the Lake Front Park Aquatic Facility shall follow the Rules Governing the Use of Grosse Pointe Woods Lake Front Park.

The Lake Front Park Aquatic Facility will open on Saturday, May 25 with limited operating hours until Friday, June 14.

Woods Warriors Swim Team Registration for the 2024 Woods Warriors swim team begins Tuesday, April 16.

The Lakefront Swimming Association is happy to have you as part of its program. The Association is made up of at least one representative from each of the following cities:

Synchronized Swim Team Synchronized Swimming Registration for Synchronized Swim Team begins Thursday, April 11 at 8:30 a.m.

GPW children between the ages of 7 and 17 are encouraged to join the GPW Synchronized Swim Team. The program runs six weeks and offers participants an opportunity to learn synchronized swimming techniques as well as preparing the group for a final show.

Junior Swim Instructor Program Junior Swim Instructor Program

The City of Grosse Pointe Woods Parks and Recreation Department is looking for student volunteers ages 11 and older to join the Junior Instructor Program at the Lake Front Park Aquatic Facility.

As a part of the Junior Instructor Program participants will:

  • Assist swim instructors
  • Help staff provide a fun, safe environment for swim lesson participants
  • Develop leadership skills
  • Be a role model to younger children
  • Make new friends
